Morphos / Studio

A studio for places with stories

One pair of hands from first sketch to live site. Eight sites delivered, ten languages, and a deliberately small team.

Morphos Studio is a two-city studio with one pair of hands. Yifan Zheng designs, builds and deploys the work — from the first conversation about a place to the automation that keeps it running afterwards. London and Geneva are the bases; the work travels further than the studio does.

Why one pair of hands

Most studio work breaks in the handover. The person who understood why the hero should feel like dusk goes back to a different project, and the person who builds it never had that conversation. Keeping design, build and deployment in one head removes the gap where the intent usually leaks out. It also means the answer to "can we change this in week three" is a yes or no from someone who knows what it costs.

How the studio works

Taste, not templatesEvery project starts from a blank page and the place itself. Nothing is assembled from a theme. The first thing you see is a direction, not a mockup of someone else’s site.
Motion with a reasonFilm, scroll and interaction are used where they carry meaning — weather, distance, pace, arrival. Not everywhere, and never as decoration.
Built to be handed overFast, accessible, indexed, documented. You get the accounts, the assets and a handover file, whether or not you stay on support.

The five disciplines

What has been delivered

Eight sites, ten languages, five disciplines, two cities. Selected work includes Tankardstown House and Rathsallagh House in Ireland, and the restaurant Kai — hospitality and estate projects where the atmosphere is the product. Five further projects are available on request under confidentiality.

How to start

Send a sentence or two about the place. You get back a direction, a timeline and a price — not a questionnaire, and not a discovery call you did not ask for. If we are not the right fit for what you need, saying so early is the most useful thing we can do.

Who actually does the work?

One person. Yifan Zheng designs, builds and deploys every project, which is why the answer to "who do I ask about this" is always the same person. Specialists are brought in for photography, copy in a specific language, or a legal review, and you always know when that is happening.

Why is the studio so small?

Because the work is coordination-heavy and taste-heavy, and both degrade when a project is passed down a chain. Staying small means the person who agreed to the idea is the person who ships it.

Do you work with clients abroad?

Yes. Sites have been delivered in ten languages for clients across Europe, Africa, Asia and North America. Calls are scheduled in your time zone; the work happens remotely.

What is a forward-deployed engineer?

Someone who embeds inside the client operation rather than delivering from a distance — sitting in your tools, your data and your weekly rhythm, and fixing the thing in front of you rather than writing a report about it. It is the part of the work that usually happens after the website.

Do you take on projects that are already half-built?

Often. Rescuing a stalled build, finishing a design someone else started, or keeping the parts of an old site that work and replacing the rest are all normal here.

Three things, not one

Web design is where most projects start. The other two are what clients stay for.

01

Web design

Sites that carry the place, and make the next step obvious

Design and build, from the first conversation about a place to the day it goes live — hand-written front end, real photography, motion where it carries meaning.

  • Website design and build for hospitality, heritage and culture
  • Brand systems and storefronts
  • Redesigns that keep your existing search visibility

02

Forward-deployed engineering

Embedded inside your operation, not at arm’s length

Someone who sits inside your tools and your weekly rhythm, and fixes the thing in front of you rather than writing a report about it.

  • Working inside your repository, dashboard and stack
  • Internal tooling for a small team that has to move fast
  • Integrations, automation and the middle layer

AI systems

Applied narrowly, where it saves a real hour

No AI for its own sake, and none of it near copy that goes out under your name without review. Only the parts that measurably remove work from a week.

  • Enquiry triage and content pipelines
  • Comment and review monitoring
  • An eight-source opportunity radar and follow-up sequencing
